We mistake the feeling of control
for the feeling of freedom
when freedom actually consists of
the courage to take risks
Those who encourage us
to take the risks of peace
may sound like they’re asking us
to risk it all
when their real demand
is a peace at all costs
that is nothing but
the absence of risk
More to the point
keeping such a peace
requires total control
