Wolves, Meet Wolverine
“The wolf will lay down with the lamb”
My mistake was
Worrying they would throw me to the wolves
Which is how wolves in sheep’s clothing
Herd sheep
I only escaped when I learned
How to pull the wool over their eyes
By trusting God further then they could throw me
When all they can see is the darkness
As I race to the light
Unburdened of my fleece
Which was merely a cloaking device
Under which I’ve discovered
I was always Wolverine
With whom the wolves
Who always know what is good for them
Will most assuredly lay down
