My ambivalence was born
When those I depended on for protection
Wielded protection as a threat
Whenever I became a threat
Nothing threatens God
Who has cured me of ambivalence
By demanding I make up my own mind
Through listening to my heart
Now that I’ve learned to listen
God and I are of one mind
Asking the very same question–
What was I thinking?-
And arriving at the answer together:
Where once I lived in the shadow of death
I now reside beyond the shadow of a doubt
