My whole life, I thought I’d done my due diligence
Duly deputized by the law of the land
As enforced by the superego, for whom I’m forever overdue
But due to unforeseen circumstances
When instead of always being due for rain, it rained for 40 days and 40 nights
I’m now due at sunrise, mid-day, and after sunset
To pay my dues on time
