It’s taken me this long to understand that
like Pee Wee Herman
I meant to do that
though I’m still unsure why
Because as hard as it’s been
to own my mistakes
it’s harder still
to unearth my motives
But if I can find
the fossil of just one bone
I can extrapolate the rest of the man
who would be lizard king
Then it’s up to me
to outwit my lizard brain
by trading in power
for a higher power
