Dulce María Loynaz

Poem III

Only by grappling with the darkness, draining from it drop by drop
its living waters, can one raise skyward a work that is noble and enduring.

Pleasant is the air, pleasant the light; but not all can be flower...;
Who plants not his soul as root, will wither.

"Poemas sin nombre", dedicado a su madre.
