The new Speech Code
prohibits use of the phrase
“Speak for yourself”
due to its aggressive tone
and threatening connotations
Instead of expressing disagreement
one must issue a praise sandwich
in which any contrary opinions
are sufficiently cushioned
to assure the listener’s total comfort
The Speech Code helpfully provides this specific example:
“I really like how you spoke from the heart;
even though it was antisemitic
they way you put it just makes it sound so normal”
