I rode a moonbeam far as eyes could see
To realms of fairy tales and fantasy
Bethought to rest my catatonic mind,
And leave the weight of waking life behind
Through twilight’s veil, a wondrous path I trace
To Shangri-La, a dream’s enchanted space
An earthly paradise in mountains high
Where dreams take wing beneath the starlit sky
Above cirrus clouds, in thoughtscape I soared
Untrammeled horizon my dreams explored
A red hawk flying, free and untethered
I carve through skies where time’s thread is weathered
Through endless currents where the winds align
I chase the sun, its golden rays divine
A fleeting warmth that whispers to my soul
To seek the light that makes the fractured whole
In my flights, my eyes get much needed rest
Gazing at the green luxuriant forest
My harried mind finds peace with the blue skies
Where quiet whispers of the wind arise
Thus revitalized, I drift through boundless air
Delightfully serene, beyond all care
Forever I’d linger, wishing that I might
But destiny calls, pulling me from flight
So I awoke, my mind sharp as can be
My spirit renewed from sweet reverie
Ready to face the world and all its trials
With courage drawn from tonight’s serene miles
