Perplexity breathes
Into the hearts of all men
In heart beat matters
 
We shy our true intent like
An elephant in the vent

This poem took me a bit longer to write but I think it's one of my favorites. The main message I wanted to convey is that sometimes I just find it frustrating when people (myself included) more often than not choose not to say what they really think or feel. And sometimes when people try to do this it's as obvious to me as an elephant trying to hide in a vent.

Seasonal Angst

To grasp at the root This longing for the seasons Hidden deep, deep down To say it’s just “Natural,” Would only scratch the leaf-tops
First Snow in a Dehydrated City

Delicate surprise From behind blind-folded eyes That glint of glitter Sprinkle, sprinkle, floating down We reach out, we grasp, we drink
That 'fuzzy buzzing silence'

A blank white tablet Fuzzy buzzing silences Click, click, click, and yet That single black divider keeps Blinking an endless cycle
Lost hour

A sudden waking From formless blinking through dre… Please, just one more year! Surprised to glance the moon’s fac… An hour before her phase
Another late night

No words escape me The sun will rise tomorrow Or so I am told
Generic expression of romantic intent

A soft fluttering A pulse that pushes beyond Beating of the heart Oh to express the joys of, A soap opera here and there
Blue fear

Life’s obligations A daunting sea of turmoil With crest after crest I’ll hide in this briny shell Till the tide forgets my name
