In the World to Come We Will All Laugh at the Thought of Disbelief; We Will Believe Because Belief Is Absurd and We Will Laugh Because Disbelief Is Rational
Faith is an act of will power
And since faith isn’t knowledge
Because it necessarily involves doubt
For now, the act is always a prediction of a future:
I will believe
A future that is actualized
By behaving as if the future is already here
Which is exactly what brings the world to come
Into existence
When I can finally stop saying
I will believe
Because everyone has discovered
The will to believe
Exactly where it always was
And forever shall be:
In our absurd desire
Desire is absurd, of course
Because you never get what you want
Which only makes you want it more
And this makes perfect sense once you realize
Only God always offers more
