tethered
always you’ll be
riveted to my heart
we’re bound together
ne’er to be apart
epoxied and glued
with a string tethered
through many oceans
that we have weathered
still the two of us
in our golden years
although contented,
we’ve shed many tears
umpteen battle scars
adorn our spirits
but our fortitude
it knows no limits
forever partners,
we’re the templates
we think alike but
we’re never soulmates
intimate twosome
