Dichotomy

There’s wonder and awe enough in the real world. Nature’s a lot better at inventing wonders than we are.”
Carl Sagan

Above, the red hawk soars on high
Below, the forest stirs in strife
The hunter streaks across the sky
While shadows chase the dance of life

The sun gives warmth, both pure and bright
Yet burns the weak beneath its glow
Nature brings peace with fierce delight
But in her calm, her tempests grow

Each tree gives shelter, storms bring fear
The fields of green become the grave
In beauty’s touch, the wild draws near
Both life and death her whispers crave

Her hand is soft, but sharp as well
In every breath, her shadows dwell
