Twilight’s Calm

“For death is no more than a turning of us over from time to eternity."
Anonymous

The end of the day so peaceful
Gently blowing, the twilight breeze
As night’s dark shadows veil the trees
While sunset left skies colorful

The stars awaken, faint yet bright
Like whispers in the silent air
A hush descends so soft, so rare
Embracing all in tender night

May our end be calm and serene
No pain, no fear, no troubled strain
A gentle ride on a slow train
Like sunsets fading, soft and clean

As nightfall brings a gentle end
Death, be a quiet, peaceful friend!

This poem is a reflection on death in the hopes death will come as serene and peaceful as nightfall.
