Looking for a Hollywood Sign

When we had bodies
they called us extras
which was short for extraneous
though our negligible status
lent a degree of latitude
through which we discovered
that longitude is an infinitely repeating loop
i.e., what goes up must come down

But now that we’re disembodied
we’ve become mere props
which is short for property
and while our body of work accrues in cyberspace
thus lending it zero mass and
seemingly enabling our escape from the black hole
left by all the superstars going supernova,
verily our weightlessness has transfixed
us with a lassitude in which
How ‘bout another bong hit, dude?
is the extent of our fortitude
