TO BE...continued Part 14

Songbird

I awakened to the sound of a singing bird,
Spring has come but she hasn’t heard.

It is a frozen winter-wonder-land today
I hope she will wait till it melts and stay.

Reminds me of a new day, even if it’s dark and gray
The white on the earth and in the trees melting away.

Half winter and half spring in transition just like me
Dormant and isolated for a season but soon TO BE.

I’m coming out of the shadows dark and silent
Into the light of the sun glistening brilliant.

Enough of the image reflection sick of shadows
Ready to frolic and leap through green meadows.

Don’t fly away little song bird
I’m here listening to every word.
