I'm Alive
My heart was broken and missing a piece
when you came back to bring me peace.
I was whole and solid and sitting really still
till a brother came long and broke the seal
Jump-started my heart with words of boldness
cranked the shaft and melted the coldness.
It’s beating, it’s beating, I sung elated
I’m alive, I can feel, I can breathe I stated.
Then came the truth, you’d live inside
sacrifice you wished came alive.
The beat of the heart, the thought of the mind
Never did I dream of love of this kind.
Passion from within where no one touches
satisfies the soul and fear it crushes
Never again to be alone, whole in the heart
safe in my home, enduring love never to part.
