Yellow Bells

“The earth laughs in flowers.”
Ralph Waldo Emerson

“I must have flowers, always, and always.”
Claude Monet

Yellow bells blooming spreading golden cheer
Blue forget-me-nots compete for sunshine
With pink geraniums and sweet lavender

Morning glory blossoming in the vine
Inviting hummingbirds and butterflies
Whilst bees buzzing roses at the fence line

The scent of lilacs a pleasant surprise
Amongst iris and garlic society
Plethora of hues pleasing to the eyes

A charming garden full of variety
Lush and luxuriant after spring showers
Brilliant colors contrast the greenery

Under the cedar one can while the hours
Shaded from the blazing rays of the sun
Amongst petunias and four-leaf clovers

Late spring cool air, summer hasn’t begun
Soft breeze is soothing, invigorating
Best mix of floral fragrances bar none

With the midday sun, the colors dazzling
Truly a little corner of heaven
The blessings from on high unraveling

As we sat there admiring the garden
Thinking this was how the Lord made Eden
