From Dawn to Dusk – A Sonnet
A pale gold light emerges, softly spread
The first breath drawn upon the edge of dawn
As shadows retreat when morning hastens on
Life wakes anew where every path is led
Yet time moves on; the sun climbs overhead
Its brilliance resplendent; shadows begone
As fleeting hours like rivers rush and spawn
The journey carved the path our hearts have bled
Then shadows return, cloaking twilight’s grace
A quiet veil enfolds the fading blue
The day retreats and yields to night’s embrace
Beneath the dark, a peace both old and new
Life’s fleeting arc obeys its timeless trace
From dawn to dusk, the cycle rings as true

3mo@Francisco P.: Thank you Brod. Petrarchan sonnets are very expressive, that’s why it’s my favorite format.
