Cotton Candy Sky

Make sure you watch more sunsets than Netflix/
Anonymous

For three days it rained
Torrential unforgiving
Thunder and lightning
The storm passed on finally
And the sun peeked playfully

Off we drove to the blue sea
For much needed revelry

In the moist boardwalk
We gazed at the lovely sky
As evening draws nigh
A cotton candy sunset
Picturesque pastel vignette

Seagulls in the sky
Floating soaring wings flapping
Then diving splashing
Pink peach baby blue backdrop
An aerial display nonstop

Soft breeze end of day
Autumn chill, nip in the air
Gusts tussle our hair
But arms around each other
Just to keep ourselves warmer

Then night upon us
Pastel colored sky now gone
Far hills hide the sun
But the moon shines afterglow
Our bright lamp till tomorrow

What a lovely afternoon
Hopeful for another soon!

I took above photo in the Kemah Boardwalk. On November 26 Sabbath, the storm finally passed after three days of rain and thunderstorms. We rushed to the sea in the afternoon. Of course!

Overlooking Galveston Bay, the Kemah Boardwalk features themed restaurants, retail shops, and amusements for the whole family.

At the heart of the Kemah Boardwalk are the restaurants. Kemah boasts some of the most recognized names in the restaurant industry: Landry's Seafood House, The Cadillac Bar, and Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. Aquarium Restaurant serves guests a great view of our 50,000 gallon aquarium brimming with marine life. The Kemah Boardwalk is also home to The Flying Dutchman, Saltgrass Steakhouse and Bayside Grill.

This 35-acre carnival-like atmosphere has a 36-foot carousel, a 65-foot Ferris wheel and rides like the Aviator and the Boardwalk Tower. Don't miss the arcade and Midway games. And for thrill seekers, there's the Boardwalk Beast, an adrenaline rush of a boat ride that takes passengers four miles into Galveston Bay at speeds up to 40 mph.

Just 20 miles from downtown Houston, The Kemah Boardwalk is a great coastal getaway.

Sounds like a beautiful place to be! Love it!

We had a blast Brod. We will visit again Dec 19. Thanks for liking @Francisco Potato

The sunset is one of my favorite things to watch and the beach one of my favorite places to be! Love your poem, Vic.

Yes, the sunset quite welcome after three days of rain. @Barb Clarke Thank you much for liking 😊😊😊

Great beach scene. Boardwalks make a beach visit memorable indeed coupled with a sunset-its paradise on earth! Next time try catching a green flash if the horizon cloud permits. Thanks Brod. Like. Take care as always.

Wish I was there.
