Sky Ablaze

“The sun had now set the sky ablaze with glorious hues of orange. She squinted to focus in the brilliance and thoughts of distant fire breathing dragons lit up her imagination once again.”
— Kim Cormack

The sky’s ablaze at sunset
Orange yellow deepest red
Illusory tongues of flame
A virtual firestorm has spread
But then it’s momentary
Soon the heavens turn to lead
The setting sun sinks below
And the brilliant colors fade

Ghostly ominous shadows
Quickly overtake the land
Night unfolds its unseen wings
Enshrouds the world with its hand
Dark grey sky Chantilly lace
With stars plentiful as sand
Brightening the witching hours
Till Eos appears in the strand

Carmine yellow golden clouds
Sunrise, morning sky’s ablaze
Crimson orb on the skyline
Shooting out its radiant rays
Then the sky turns cerulean
And warmth melts the pearly haze
As morning dew vap’rizes
To nature ungrudging praise

Days and time perfect cycle
Sunset night sunrise repeat
Since the cosmos’ genesis
A truth to our ears so sweet
Thus when our days unpleasant
We must not accept defeat
For there’s always tomorrow
Where we can make life complete!

A poem about birth and rebirth. No matter how difficult our today maybe, it will all end by nightfall. And tomorrow is out there waiting for us.
