Our backyard labor of love
My wife chose all that’s in it
Fruit-bearing trees solar lights
The concrete bench where we sit
Garlic society
Purple blossoms amazing
Honeybees buzzing
Lily of the Nile
Tall upright purple flow’rs too
Damp with morning dew
Fragrant gardenia
Fresh from last evening showers
White perfumed flowers
Under the magnolia tree
White cast-iron garden set
Stone marble nymphs and fairies
Bird bath that blue jays visit
Hardy lantana
Survivor last winter’s freeze
Red and gold posies
Sunshine ligustrum
Apollo’s rays trapped in its
Brilliant golden leaves
Hoary silver dust
Next to the big stone boulder
It’s the eyecatcher
Then there’s begonias
Citronella petunias
Hibiscus hostas
All in perfect harmony
Singing nature’s symphony

2y@Charlotte B. Williams Thank you Charlotte. Yes, a great hobby. We just wish the Texas weather could have less triple digit temperature days. I have been trying to encourage Sim to write more but to no avail. Her writer's block is more lasting, I fear. But I will pass along your message. 😉

2y@Vic Yes I am sure she will. It’s her great escape. Mine? I literally get out of the house and walk a couple miles and walk back in! We lived five years in Durham NC prior to our move to California. We put together a vegetable/herbs garden along the length of the driveway abt 50ft long-3 beds with flower plants in spots. Flowering plants as well along two sides of the house. The rest were bushes landscaping by the builder. We lived in a culdesac. We built a 3-compartment composting bin and she loved it!
