A Halloween Tale
He caught a glimpse of the monster
A lethal wraith-like dementor
As he passed the hallway mirror
He shuddered in speechless horror
The unpleasant truth dawned on him
He’s the tormentor cruel and grim
In the mirror his reflection
Showing his grievous affliction
He felt abashed and horrified
In deepest cave he wants to hide
Undo vile things he may have done
Stop the wicked deeds he’s begun
But he woke up, it’s just a dream
He’s not that wicked it would seem
Nonetheless he knew he’s done ill
And he needs to undo them still
What a relief! a weight lifted
Not sure such creatures existed
Last night he watched Harry Potter
That’s why he dreamt of said monster
He stood up, went to the bathroom
Quickly embraced by ice-cold gloom
Behold! staring from the mirror
A fright’ning wraith-like dementor
Epilogue
They found him on the floor mumbling
Crying screaming then whimpering
Now he lives in a funny farm
To make sure he can do no harm
Conscience can be a dreadful thing
Merciless and unforgiving!
