Beyond the Veil

"The beauty of an ending lies in the promise of what comes next."
C. JoyBell C

When the end comes, whispering through the trees
I’d wish to join the fields and rivers wide
Meld with the earth, in nature’s arms abide
My breath merging with the soft evening breeze

Across the plains, I’ll be an oak leaf spun
I’ll ride the ripples flowing out to sea
The feathers of a falcon soaring free
The rising smoke where chimney embers run

A golden sunbeam on a summer’s day
Amid the meadows, a wildflower I’ll be
Courted by butterflies, kissed by a bee
A blossom bright, untouched by time’s decay

I’ll be a dewdrop on a blade of grass
That vanishes when the blazing sunlight burns
Then a snowflake when winter chill returns
Suspended deep within a frozen pass

I’ll be the mist that rises with the dawn
A wave that crashes on the rugged shore
Then drifts away to where the waters roar
Yet in the morning light, I’m never gone

Though lovely is the thought of drifting free
A leaf, a wave, a whisper on the breeze
Yet dust we are, and dust our fate decrees
No dream can change what death must come to be

For in the end, I know it cannot be
When the time comes, I’ll sleep beneath the ground
Until He wakes me with a trumpet sound
With angels singing for eternity

And when He calls, I’ll rise to see anew
A world reborn, with beauty pure and bright
Where skies and seas are bathed in perfect light
And nature’s wonders bloom in endless view!
