Scott Ransopher

GAVIN, HER SON

Ear to ear is the toothless grin,
Widened eyes take all the world in,
Sparse fly away hair, soft on your head,
Alert, attentive expressions to all that is said.
Perfect little hands that grasp and hold.
Tiny, baby goose bumps react to the cold.
Skin so beautiful, as soft as silk,
Tiny, little “O” mouth wanting your milk.
Crinkled forehead so full of concern,
Always watching, ready to learn,
A voice like sunshine, squeals of delight,
Sleepy little whimpers into the night,
Everything you are is a miracle to see,
Thank you, Love, for giving him to her.
