The Wind

With hungry subjects clamoring who the noble king adores.
A supply ship was routinely dispatched to familiar nearby shores.
Honorable captain, once an adventurer, as a lad had gone to sea.
Exotic places he had visited, the life he once lived was free.

Duty bound old man now on routine missions spends his time.
Set sail one fateful summer night unaware of what he’d  find.
Once at sea bellowing sails filled with unexpected nor eastern winds.
The captain’s adventurous spirit rekindled, ships course he did amend.

Unexplored places were visited, the ship’s hull was filled with bounty.
Because the captain followed  the wind, unimaginable riches found he.
Homeward bound content and blissful he considered his adventure.
He realized the strong wind had blown him free from his indenture.

He could take flight from his dutiful life with riches to find his freedom.
As for clamoring hungry subjects - he could decide to leave them
But return he did with a willing heart not a sense of obligation.
The ship’s supplies were  used by the noble king to express his adoration.
