Words in the Silence

Words buried beneath the turbulent surface
for deep meditations to dig them out for us,
shining a bright light for them to be found
are for us to embrace as a soothing sound.

O sweet words that melt away the clamoring
of the thunder and make the heavens sing,
accumulate in our precious past
and resonate in our spirit to forever last.

They swirl about in our spacious space inside,
our room that dwarfs all other rooms betide,
our shrunken universe that we call our own,
there for us to see how we have grown.

We are a prominent voice in our silence,
a thunder in the stillness of all indifference,
a poet who found the words tucked away
deep, deep down where the wise men pray.

We are a voice in the solitude of a prayer
coming into prominence through the sacred air,
moving into our hearts and settling in our mind
as our treasure chest that we could find,
our words in our silence that speak to us
in a language that is sagacious and melodious.
