Debby the Marauder

Beautiful Debby with her chiffon skirts
flailing about in the teeth of her hurricane winds,
her rage riling up the oceanic peace,
the calm that it used to be, the glassy waters
that loll in the sun and under moonlit skies,
kicking them up with her colossal paddles,
surveying the feeble shores with her deep,
dark, mysterious, cunning, lustrous eyes,
moving in while plotting her moves,

beautiful Debby with her wiles and her schemes,
her two minds with each one seeking control
in accord with Mother Nature’s capricious ways,
playing with the seas and riding on the waves,
painting the skies with fire and ice,
rolling with their nervous rollings,
flaunting her beauty above
and scattering her wiles down below,
laughing at the horror of the frantic shipmates,
moving in closer to the feeble shores,

beautiful Debby, Mata Hari of the seas,
her eyes up closer now,
her deep pools swallowing up the swimmers,
suffocating them with her charm,
flirting with them, tantalizing them, bewitching them,
looking into their eyes, the eyes of a fool,
unaware of her winds that await them,
that swirl around her tranquil eyes,
that will blow them away with their strength,
then move on and assault the hinterlands
with her hostility conjured up against the earth,
moves in to wreak havoc upon the land and seas.

“Beautiful Debby, beautiful beast,
marauder of the August Earth,
please sit still so we can all
admire your beauty.”

This is about Hurricane Debby in August, 2024.
