Of Chordal Blending

Of chordal blending and potent saccharine
and jasmine sprewing into music fields therein
heaven sinking down into earthen plains
into melodious gardens as harmonic rains

earth and sky mingling with each other
harmony lifting the clouds as they hover
symphonic skies reach into the human heart
through tender corridors to leave a mark

certain chords of a certain kind in the blending
massaging the heart to the spirit ascending
to certain ears of needs and desires
to reach down deep and stoke the fires

melody and harmony, a perfect marriage
each needing each other to engage
an inborn mystery of the poetic kind
the power of music to seek and find

chordal blending, a touching of the senses
a magic potion that tears down fences
a power that sends all dancers dancing
and others unmoved and only glancing
then are we who fly on harmonic wings
up and up to hear heaven as it sings.

That sure is a mystery, why I am moved by a certain chordal blending and not others.
