Bringing Out the Beast

Answering the call of insurgency
for the running of the adrenalin rivers
the bringing out of the eager beast
that lives in the dark side
from the shadows of divinity
that loosens its foothold in the soul of man
and hears the voices through the frenzied air
organizing armies that lay hidden in man
gathering up the eager beasts one by one,
injecting them with vile words that please their minds
words that speak to the dark side of man
a language that lays dormant but comes to life
as the voices become stronger and touch the spirit
that appeals to the aggression that lives inside
loosening the chains of civility that was implanted
that subdued man and controlled his aggression

but at last the smell of that sweet insurgency
the aroma of those words that woke up the spirit
that gave permission to go to war
to join others and be like them with
the feeling of the adrenalin surging through his veins

at last the release of those pent-up emotions
the running of them with a pack of wolves
the others who inherited that same new feeling
as the pack grew ever larger and stronger
with an unclear understanding of the
reason for the running, but enjoying the ride
as the adrenalin surged through
the veins and spoke to the spirit inside,

“Run like hell young man and don’t ease up.
Feel those voices from hell speaking
to your spirit and enjoy your ride.”
