Air of Rhythm

Air of rhythm of poetic pace
circulating in cylinders of pure white lace

adorned in angelic robes in celestial flight
with the pulsating drums up into the twilight

uttered phrases from the mouth of the poets
in sync with the rain and bubbling rivulets

creating spaces that cover up the callous air
with words dressed up in bright and kingly wear

that jump off the tongue and create an air of bliss
in the language of heaven and color of the abyss

words that direct the air currents to stay in sync
to get inside the pulse and know how they think

to move them with their power in a poetic way
in a rhythmic pattern that makes the skyscape  sway

and as it hovers in the air that runs through the glades
the earth hears the language and the indifference fades

and the air becomes a poem about to be written
in the newly acquired air by new sensations smitten

as poets bring heaven’s language into the mix
and the air of the rhythm in the writing clicks

heaven down to earth in three quarter time
thoughts into words into poetry into rhyme

o sweet air of the poet’s breath
o sweet air of the poem until death
