Futures Heeded

Futures Heeded

The future lies beyond what we have felt and experienced.  If it has not yet made an impact in our visions, we overlook our own destiny.  Every animal and living creature on earth plans for the future, according to the law of nature.  They act with the unerring providence of instinct, the philosophy of action without the knowledge of what philosophy is.  It just happens.  That supreme power behind them goads them into action while man, with his higher faculties, goes blundering on.
Why should we let our reasoning rise above and ignore it?  Some of us reason ourselves out of being instinctive. Instead of bracing ourselves for the future, we let the future come and render us victims of what we let our reasoning do to us.
We have the advantage over all creatures.  Why should we abuse it?
