Mona Lisa
there will be chill in the air
around the corner undoubtedly
before the autumnal equinox
a sweet first kiss of fall
pumpkin sightings
more than Elvises’
this time of year
orange red yellow
soon will render
the cooler days
a season of grandeur
a prelude to the season of joy
a phenomenal time of the year
reflection solitude looking ahead
rhyme and reason poetry written
music composed symphony repeated
last whispers of summer mists
a falling wispy leaf touch of autumn
the trees bare their skin naked
tucked themselves to bed
for a long winter slumber
rise in spring to a million nice things
sun’s constant creation of life
vivid lush green from spring
through summer into early fall
slows down a tiny bit seems as the sun
gradually sets early into dusk
with it the life sustaining rays
as the autumn days begin
to get shorter... and shorter
warm colors of the canopies
we see... astonishing singular beauty
the sun’s gift to us a happy wish of the day
from the life on top of the canopies
spread across the hemispheres
each color giving way to the other
dancing the dance of love
ballerina yellow
a flamenco red
a bolero orange
roses of vibrant warm colors
spectrum leaves falling on the floor
of paradise planet earth
succored by Mother Nature
infused with life to bloom in spring
a cycle of the beautiful universes
sustained season after splendid season
awe inspiring wonderful renaissance
every leaf a Mona Lisa for the ages
