The Winds of Change

Sometimes you just have to surrender to fate. But that doesn't make it easy.

When the shadow of night crosses your path
And the stars cannot be seen,
Do not indulge your mind in wrath,
But in moments that have been.
For when the shadow leaves
And all the stars come out to sing,
You will see the shadows grieving
For the light they cannot bring.
And in the memories that flow
Out of your silent mind,
You watch them on their journeys go
On paths they cannot find.
But in the secret silence
Of the corners of my thoughts
Lie the answers to the violence
That shadows surely brought.
But hope, it never darkens;
There is hope that still remains.
In times of shadow, harken
To the wizened winds of change.
I find we are eternally bound
To keep our feet upon the ground.
But what about I who could never tarry
And would go wherever the wind would bear me?
