The Phoenix

For Professor Dumbledore (miss you bro)

In and out through Time and Space
The Phoenix spins within a line
That no other life form can trace
However devout or divine.
Though its body may be mortal
Eternal is its lasting soul.
For through its own ashes, a portal
Is reached without a thought or goal.
As the Phoenix sings its song
To all feelings it once did guide,
We grieve to innocent and wrong
Long after the song has died.
In the Dark it brings its hope;
It brings its love, it brings its light
To those of us who fear to cope
Against the everlasting Night.
Long now the Phoenix is at rest,
But still, its light shall never wane.
We must remember its hope lest
It ceases to arise again.
