Lost and Found

I saw an ocean, clear and blue
Deep as the blood of man,
And like a bird I spread my wings
And set out for the land.
I wandered over brush and thorn,
The greenery became my home.
And though I unearthed hidden truth,
Still did I roam, still did I roam.
Cascading jeweled waterfalls,
Flowers across dale and hill,
Dark and lonely caverns,
The desert heat and mountain chill,
I saw it all, I saw the world
And so much more, and yet
The world I found, the world I knew
Was filled with my regret.
Unsatisfied and longing,
I went searching to find more;
I searched behind each pair of eyes
And opened every door.
But none of them were good enough,
Their colors were untrue.
No, I never knew what beauty meant
Until I discovered you.
