**A Lover’s Plea**

Oh, Lord, it cannot be that one who loves
Your sacred presence will be left unseen,
That eyes that gaze upon Your face above
Would meet with silence, cold and unfeeling.

Unveiled before You lies my heart’s desire,
A flame that burns with passion’s fervent glow,
A longing deep to quench my soul’s thirst higher
With streams of grace that from Your bounty flow.

I plead with humble voice, a trembling plea,
For but a glimpse of Your celestial light,
A tender glance to soothe my spirit’s plea,
To fill my weary soul with pure delight.

For in Your love, my heart finds solace sweet,
An oasis of peace amidst life’s storm,
A refuge where my troubled mind can meet
The gentle touch of Your protective arm.

So let not my pleas be met with vain disdain,
Oh, Lord, whose mercy knows no bounds above,
But turn Your gaze upon this soul that’s fain
To bask in the warmth of Your eternal love.
