Moving with daybreak

Although I miss you in the morning when I see the sun
It makes me remember the reasons we are done
How you couldn’t face up the fact
I love you so dearly but you couldn’t love me back
You though you could share the little love you gave me
And for a while the whole idea enslaved me
Of how you could want others when you wouldn’t help or hold me
How betrayed I felt when you started to disown me
Made me feel like I was less than
But really it was you who needed a friend
And while we both are now all alone
Crying each night thinking of picking up the phone
It’s best we remember the love we once had
I for one of them years I’m glad
So don’t miss me when the sunsets make you think of my laugh
While we drove around the bends to the lake summer last
Don’t miss me when you had me and let me go
And I’ll do the same so I can move on
