We thought we were bold and true,
So deeply lost in our desperate lies.
Astonishing– our despairing, selfish belief,
After completely losing ourselves in wasted tries.
Who is to be perfect?
Our youth is both pure and deceiving.
How the innocence of our past,
And the sin of our future start interweaving.
We are but children–
Weak, needing, begging–
With an ignorant psyche,
And our false truths keep pegging.
Look at how the free fish swim–
And the free birds fly.
We’re cursed to walk this land,
This life with love so dry.
Egocentric, lies are our ambition–
Because the fake is the new real.
We turn our angel selves into demons,
Because monsters are the new appeal.
We are evil and calamitous,
Seeking the lust that makes us lust more.
We bath in our tragic iniquity,
With the Devil lurking behind the door.
