With You, Always
In this world
It gives us pleasure to imagine
A false dichotomy between power and pleasure
Giving us the power to feel innocent in our happiness
As if self-aggrandizement is the opposite of self-indulgence
When, of course, in this world
The greatest pleasure known to man
Is the exercise of power
Making power and pleasure equivalent
In the world to come
We will see through this false equivalence
As we witness the truth:
We serve at the pleasure of God
In the process
Becoming more powerful than we could possibly imagine
