Bear Grass

For Glacier, once again

Seated upon spring green spires
Ironic, bears for it don’t desire.
Conical stone hides
Wistful wisps inside.
They reside
Much higher.

Poison for gruff beast, bodies lift
To the sky. Beauty set adrift
Too gentle to last
When breezes rush past
Don’t dare sniff
Fear the grass.

(2014)

Bear Grass is a wonder flower which grows in the alpine. This is a Clagyrnaach, which is likely the most difficult form I've ever written in. Trimeter is never easy.
