My Husband and I
In my eyes I see us,
standing side by side,
nothing can come between us,
no matter how hard people try.
In some eyes they see him,
standing all alone.
They don’t see that I exist.
Don’t realize what I mean to him.
In some other eyes they don’t see us,
holding each other tight.
Until they find that they need us,
then their hearts are no longer blind.
In more eyes they see us,
standing firm in faith,
but they only want to bring us down,
to halt the love we share
but still we stand together,

The Church and Jesus Christ
I was challenged to write a poem showcasing an allegory of marriage and Christ and the Church. So I started typing away and this is what I've come up with in the few minutes I've been awake. It's not my best work. :)
