The Monsoon
Finally, after a very hot summer, the ever welcome rains started. The hot earth was cooled by a torrent of downpour that clattered and rattled every window pane and shattered the sky with lightning and thunder.
The clock hands move towards eight
and with a mighty cry, a thundering roar
The sky gets shredded with shards of light
The clouds locked in a fight
Splattering water at every height!
The chaotic rain blinding every eye,
Machine and creature alike
The sound of water, falling on rooftops, wood and earth,
the smell of mud, the splash of the puddle, the whining wind,
I listen and I wish, to open the doors.
To go out, to play, to sing, to dance in the rain.
I was at office when it started raining cats and dogs. I could hear the thunder, the wind, the rain drops like a thousand machine gun fire. I wanted to go out and enjoy this magical moments but I couldn't.
