Uncut

“Remember diamonds are created under pressure
so hold on, it will be your time to shine soon.”
Sope Agbelusi

A Sonnet to my butterfly princess

Fresh unspoiled untamed diamond uncut
She’s a rare beauty still undiscovered
But she’ll blossom into a brilliant cut
Soon her name by admiring lips uttered

Olive skin smooth and silky, blemish-free
Dark brown eyes lustrous pools, thick long lashes
Hourglass figure every woman’s envy
Flowing black hair tied in satin sashes

But her beauty beyond the physical
Her heart golden humble compassionate
Her mind sharp inquisitive logical
Yes, she misses not singular good trait
Soon she’ll bloom luxuriant for all to see
In all measures one amazing beauty!

“There are still some wonderful people left in this world! They are diamonds in the rough, but they're around! You'll find them when you fall down– they're the ones who pick you up, who don't judge, and you had to fall down to see them! When you get up again, remember who your true friends are!”

I love this , it’s full of hope and optimism. There’s a scripture that says a friend loves at all times, not just in the good times. They will help bring out the best in you too. I felt it speak to me, because in many things we seek for perfection, and we feel one day we’ll blossom and become what we only once dreamed of.

@Charlotte B. Williams Thank you for liking . And thanks for pointing out that nuance. Because indeed, we are all uncut diamonds, or diamonds in the rough. That blessed morning we shall be brilliant cuts when He comes. 🙏🏻😊

Lovely poem brod. Beauty may fade; but a good heart, faith and hope, like diamonds, are forever.

@Francisco Potato Amen! Physical beauty is just one aspect of a beautiful person. Thanks for the Fave/Like 😊😊

@Marijo Reyes @Sim Evora @Barb Clarke @April Marie @Benjamin G. Sangalang Thank you all for liking this poem.

Thank you @Introverted Sage
