The Lioness
Dedicated to all the single mothers out there who single-handedly raised their children to succeed in life.
They did it with unerring focus, a fury that did not tolerate failure, but with a lot of love.

She confronts all things with finesse and fury
She’s in, or she’s out, nothing in between
Once in, not a single line is blurry
Full speed ahead; no distractions intervene!
With her at the helm, there are no half measures
A hundred percent commitment any and all times
She demands it from everyone, in all endeavors
Chips are all in; quarters, nickels and dimes
Despite her single-mindedness and dedication
Everything, she does with love and kindness,
An unerring focus muddled with compassion!
In a world of lesser felines, she’s a lioness!
Unwavering! Resolute to protect the pride,
Against all outside threats! Her inerrant aim
To uplift all around her. She can’t be denied!
Yet if a cub measures not; he’d be loved the same!
No matter what, lessons will be learned!
Goals will be set; milestones must be reached...
But rewards await; perquisites rightfully earned,
When the cubs do what she has preached!
Years down the road, when the cubs look back
They’ll sing hymns and paeans to the lioness!
She herded them so they won’t go off track
With finesse and fury, discipline and kindness!

2aTrain a child or cub in the way it should go, and when it gets older it will not depart. Many single mothers do a great job raising their children alone. I know they would appreciate this tribute.
