Ninety Years

This poem commemorates the 90th anniversary of the Tau Alpha Fraternity in 2022.

Ninety long years of brotherhood
While striving for the common good
Looking forward to ninety more
As the mighty seas we explore

Never an anachronism
We view that fate as truly grim
So we ask heaven for guidance
Always may we have relevance

Sadly in the Elysian Fields
Brothers have gone with swords and shields
We raise a toast and shout All Hail!
Soon it will be our turn to sail

Brothers come; sadly brothers go
But our fraternity will grow
Younger sailors will man the ship
With unity and fellowship

The world’s a diff’rent scenario
Compared to ninety years ago
But Argo’s in capable hands
As we navigate these strange lands

This august year we celebrate
We’re thankful for our fabled strait
May we continue to do good
Cheer and salute our brotherhood!
