Medium is Often Rare,
But Always Well Done
And Life - Just a Laugh!
Her life has turned into a happy medium
Oh, from the very first moment he left
No highs nor lows; to others, perhaps tedium
But then, of tears and laughter, bereft!
Gone are the torrid nights of passion
Her heartbeat at hyper speeds no longer
But her days; empty of drama and confusion
And with welcome sleep, she feels stronger!
Sadly, romantic dinners, all in the past
No hand to hold when she walks in the beach
But her outlook’s no longer grim and overcast
And smiles are always within easy reach!
Her world used to be a rollercoaster ride
Now it’s akin to sailing in a tranquil ocean
And while she’s alone, no one at her side
There are no conflicts; no sudden implosion!
Alas, she’d look weird alone in the dance floor
No shoulder to cry on, watching a sad movie
No one around to hold open the door
No one to wake her from an afternoon reverie
Her life’s but a string of simple pleasures
Like grabbing a book and leisurely reading
A trip to an antique shop in search of treasures
Dancing, singing loud like no one’s watching
Truly, her life is now a happy medium
Not a valley of tears, neither paradise
But birds will still sing and flowers bloom
Tomorrow, a bright and happy sun will rise!

7aApparently she's happy where she is now yet somehow wishing to love and be loved again, having a hand to hold dancing and walking on the beach. The sun rises again and with it songbirds and flowers. Meanwhile life goes on. Nice frame. Like. Thanks Brod.

7aThanks for liking Brod. Sometimes staying together is not the best thing to do.

7aHi Vic. Great poem. Old age sure makes one appreciate more things taken for granted in the early days. Now pleasure is in reading a book instead of making love. It is hard to get adjusted to, but nature forces us to.

7aThank you Robert

7aI could feel the peaceful energy from your words! This is beautiful! She didn't choose to quarrel with the past instead, she flowed with time, she now holds her own tranquil ocean and, goes..
Vic Evora
7aIndeed, she does!
