Life Magic

Everyone thinks that I have gone insane.
They also keep their distance from my broom.
They say that love has paralyzed my brain.
Nonsense. I knew he left to meet his doom.
I saw his death in battle in a dream
And once again in crystal saw him dead.
And so I met him by the village stream.
And so I lured him here, into this bed.
Some think I lost my senses, some I flew
That horrid afternoon before the war.
He stood to brush his hair behind the door.
I shattered his reflection with my shoe.
If only he had understood my goal.
I caught the glass and knew the words to say.
I broke the mirror to release his soul
And send it to the babe we made that day.
