’Tis well that she cannot foresee
What lies “beyond the bend”—
For she could shrink in dread and fear
At what this life would send.
It’s been a year of changes, Lord—
But she has learned to see
Her Love’s unfolding tenderness
And faithfulness to her!
When grief bears down and tears her heart—
When sadness overwhelms—
When disappointment lingers on—
Still Love is at the helm!
When life does not turn out the same
As she had hoped it might—
When plans and dreams lie shattered,
And tears have dimmed her sight—
It’s then that she must lift her eyes
To the One Who’s in control—
Her Love, Who Watches over her—
The Lover of her soul.
