Scott Ransopher

REMEMBRANCE

Remember him when the sky is dark,
And clouds hide burning stars.
Think of him as the rain rushes
To touch his skin, and trees
Dance around him through the wind.
Hear his voice in the echoes
Of barking dogs.
Feel his presence in the approach
Of a twilight train.
And chase the night until
He’s the only creature
Not caged, or bound by
Mortal thoughts or bonds.
Hooowwl! At the sunrise.
Sing in remembrance of him.
