A little blue bird of life
The words are muffled and shifting back and forth
The pounding won’t stop, the frayed lines are blurring still
I hold onto a thread, a little blue bird of life left after the fall
The tension is mine; it is a pain unique and will become lost in the static
Frenzied energy drains from my fingertips
Click, click, click goes the clock
Click, click, click goes my heart
Click, click, click in succession
Slowly falling

I can't remember the original context to which I wrote this freestyle-poem but I can only assume it occurred on one of my lonelier nights. I can't say that it's one of my favorites but I do like the phrase "little blue bird of life"
